How to open the encrypt sqlite database?

How to set or reset the encrypt key using the sqlite for excel?

Hi,

I think the regular SQLite library (which is linked by SQLite for Excel) has no encryption option built in.

So I presume you are referring to the SQLite Encryption Extension? I have no access to this or any experience with it. It seems there is some PRAGMA instruction that can set the keys, else it should not be too hard to extend the SQLite_stdcall library to make those calls. But I don't have access to that library.

Otherwise your encrypted file might be made with the .NET driver (System.Data.SQLite), and then you'll have to use that to open it again.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

It is not possible to open the encrypt sqlite database using the sqlite for excel 0.9 in the vba?

Hi,

The issue is not the SQLite for Excel integration, but that the SQLite .dll we have does not include the encryption API. That version of SQLite is not free, and I don't have it. If you have it, you might be able to access the encryption features via some PRAGMA commands, thus not need any changes to the SQLite for Excel parts.
